Show Yourself Love
We have so much love to give, but we don't have to give it all away to others. We deserve just as much love to ourselves. When is the last time you did something just for you? Do you show yourself love on a daily basis? Showing self-love is important to our mental and physical health! Here are just a few ways you can show yourself love every day:
CHALLENGE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
We all have moments of negativity and doubt, but rather than let them happen, challenge them. When you think you can't do something or are not good enough, stop yourself and think "What makes me feel this way", "I am capable of anything", or "I'm going to try my very best!" Don't let your negative thoughts overwhelm your day-to-day activities. You are capable of great things!
DO MORE OF WHAT YOU LOVE
Do you enjoy taking walks at the park or perhaps snuggling up with your favorite book? Or why not treat yourself to some new plus size clothing that you love from On the Plus Side? Make time for these hobbies and activities that truly bring you happiness. It sounds so simple but scheduling it into your daily routine will help make this more of a reality.
IT'S OK TO SAY NO
Would you rather tackle an at home project than go out with girlfriends tonight? There is nothing wrong with saying "no!" By simply telling your friends "I think I am going to pass tonight, I have a project at home I'd really like to tackle" you're putting your needs and wants before others, which is needed from time to time! Setting boundaries is an important step to self-love.
WRITE POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS
Keep small notes of affirmations around your home and read them when you come across them. Put notes in your bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc. Just grab some sticky notes and jot down some positive thoughts. Things that you need to remind yourself or positive traits you love about yourself. Reading them daily will help a lot with your journey to self-love!
START A GRATEFUL JAR
At the end of each day, write down one thing you were grateful for that day. At the end of each week, month, year (or whenever you need a quick pick-me-up), read through the jar! It will remind you of all the great things in your life you have to be grateful for and bring a smile to your face!
