Host Your Own Virtual Happy Hour

Happy hours are a little different these days with shelter in place and restaurants being closed. I know I personally have really enjoyed Zoom and Google Hangouts calls with my family and friends to fill the void of not being able to go out. It is a nice way to connect and laugh during these times. With Memorial Day coming up it’s hard to think that we can’t be with the ones we love. That’s why it’s a perfect time for a virtual happy hour/Memorial Day celebration! One person can send out a drink and appetizer recipe and then everyone can make the same drink and food at home. Then you cheers, catch up and maybe even play a game! It’s a great way to try new recipes or a new favorite cocktail (see recipes below).

The best part of this virtual happy hour is that it’s at home, which means comfy clothes are a must. If you haven’t tried our best-selling leggings yet trust me you need them in your life. No-Bake 7 Layer Taco Dip

  • 1 (15-oz) can refried beans
  • 1 (4-oz) can diced green chiles, undrained
  • 1 (16-oz) container fresh guacamole
  • 1 (16-oz) container sour cream
  • 1 (1-oz) package taco seasoning
  • 1 (15-oz) can corn, drained
  • 1 (8-oz) package finely shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1 (pint) grape tomatoes
  • 1 (2.2-oz) can sliced olives, drained

Roasted Garlic and White Bean Dip With Rosemary

  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 teaspoon, plus 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans white beans, like cannellini, Great Northern or navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon roughly chopped fresh rosemary leaves, plus 1 full sprig
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pinch of cayenne, plus more for garnish (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons kosher salt

  • 1 ½ cups club soda, chilled

  • 6 ounces blueberries
  • 2 oranges – 1 thinly sliced into rounds, 1 juiced

Easy Strawberry Margarita Recipe

  • 1 pound frozen whole strawberries
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur, Cointreau or similar
  • 1/3 cup honey or other sweetener, more or less to taste
  • margarita salt, to rim the glasses
  • limes, for garnish
